Few wedding venues in Devon are as unique as Tunnels Beaches in Ilfracombe. Hidden beneath the cliffs and accessed through hand-carved tunnels, it’s one of the most spectacular coastal wedding venues in the UK.
On a warm mid-summer day, I had the pleasure of filming a stunning wedding here at Tunnels Beaches, with sunshine, calm seas, and incredible golden light across the North Devon coastline.
As a Devon wedding videographer, this venue always feels special the scenery, the atmosphere, and the way the sea frames every moment of the day.

FILMING AT TUNNELS BEACHES
On the day I like to blend in. I am not the kind of videographer who is pulling people aside for set up shots or directing the room. I move quietly through the day, staying close to the moments that matter and giving you and your guests the space to actually enjoy yourselves. What that produces is footage that feels real because it is real. Natural expressions, genuine reactions, the kind of moments that you simply cannot stage.
Tunnels Beaches lends itself perfectly to this style of filming. The location is so naturally beautiful that the most honest and relaxed approach to capturing it is almost always the most cinematic one too.
WHY FILMING AT TUNNELS BEACHES IS SO BEAUTIFUL
The natural environment at Tunnels Beaches does so much of the work. The tunnels themselves create incredible framing opportunities, the beach offers space and openness, and the cliffs provide a constantly shifting backdrop of texture and light. In the summer months especially, the quality of the coastal light at golden hour is simply stunning. There is a rawness and a romance to this place that translates directly onto film in a way that very few venues can match.

Have you filmed at Tunnels Beaches before?
Yes. Tunnels Beaches is one of my favourite venues to film at on the entire North Devon coastline. I know the location well, from the best spots to capture the tunnel arrivals to where the light falls during a summer ceremony on the beach. That familiarity makes a real difference on the day.
What makes Tunnels Beaches such a good venue for wedding film?
The variety of the location is what makes it so special from a filmmaking perspective. Within one venue you have the drama of the tunnels, the openness of the tidal beach, the texture of the cliffs, and the incredible quality of coastal light. In summer especially, the golden hour light at Tunnels Beaches is some of the most beautiful natural light I have ever worked with.
Do you travel to Tunnels Beaches from outside Devon?
Tunnels Beaches is within my home filming territory in North Devon, so there are no travel concerns for couples booking from anywhere in the country. Whether you are local to Devon or travelling from further afield for your wedding, I am right on the doorstep.
How long will my Tunnels Beaches wedding film be?
Every couple is different and I offer a range of film lengths to suit what feels right for you. Most wedding films range from a short highlight film of around five to six minutes through to a full feature length film of my 10-15 minute highlight film. We can talk through what feels right for your day during our initial conversation.
